Foreword

The Gilbert Lectures on Christian Psychiatry at Nazarene Theological Seminary have been established to show the value of scientific techniques in the field of counseling and to point out the effectiveness of Christian therapy.

The lecture series is made possible through the generous sponsorship of L.M. Gilbert, M.D., of Bethany Oklahoma.

Many seminarians in past years have benefitted greatly because of Dr. Gilbert's interest in preparing persons for Christian service. He is to be thanked for his investment in the lives of future ministers.

It is my honor to be chosen to deliver the lectures in 1995 as a part of the fiftieth anniversary of Nazarene Theological Seminary.
